ASU honors college students provide shoes for needy youths

March 13, 2014

Arizona State University students at Barrett, the Honors College put their artistic talents to philanthropic use in the Beautiful Soles project, decorating more than 100 pairs of shoes that were donated to Children First Academy, a school for needy and homeless children in Tempe.

The Barrett students used markers, colored pens and fabric paint to transform plain, white canvas sneakers into works of art. The shoes go into the Children First Academy clothing bank room, where academy students in need can get outfits and shoes.

The Beautiful Soles project was featured in the Better Arizona segment March 12, on Channel 5 in Phoenix.
