Gartner comments on final presidential debate

November 05, 2012

Associate professor David Gartner was interviewed on CBS 5 on Oct. 23, about the final presidential debate.

The debate focused on foreign policy, and Gartner spoke about  the candidates’ performances.

He said he was surprised to see both candidates agreeing so frequently, and disappointed that many topics weren’t discussed at all, such as the European financial crisis and the transformation of many rising economies in South America.

Gartner teaches Constitutional Law, International Institutions, Foreign Relations Law and Global Health Law and Policy. His current research focuses on the role of innovative international institutions and non-state actors in shaping international law and the response to global challenges in areas such as global health, development, education and the environment. He also is an affiliate professor in the ASU School of Public Affairs.
