ASU helps Phoenix fight prostitution with human approach
ASU's School of Social Work helped the Phoenix Police Department last week get prostitutes off the streets and connected with health care and social service providers.
The initiative, called Project ROSE (Reaching Out to the Sexually Exploited), was the subject of a recent article in the Arizona Republic.
"ASU professor Dominique Roe-Sepowitz spearheaded Project Rose's first attempt last September and found the early results encouraging, with nearly 30 percent of the eligible suspects completing the diversion program," writes JJ Hensley, of the Republic.
