Dan Gillmor on being 'mediactive'

January 27, 2011

Dan Gillmor, director of the Knight Center for Digital Media Entrepreneurship at ASU, talks about his new book "Mediactive" in a Q&A session of Silicon Valley News.

Gillmor discusses the issue of media overload: "The biggest problem is people feel overwhelmed with this flood of information, and they don’t know what to do about it, exactly. They don’t have help guidance in figuring out who they can trust.

"There’s a large group of people who can benefit from [having the right tools] to navigate this flood. It won’t be immediate. It’s a long process for people to become more willing to participate in the ways I’m talking about."
