The riddle of cage-free eggs

New research by W. P. Carey School of Business professor Timothy Richards is featured in a Sept. 1 Forbes article. The piece discusses the pricing and safety of cage-free eggs and organic produce.

An excerpt:

"Last weekend, Timothy Richards, a professor at Arizona State’s W. P. Carey School of Business, asked 180 people in the Phoenix area if they would pay more for cage-free eggs. He did this by running an auction of sorts to see how much people would pay for them. He hasn’t summarized the data yet but says, 'we did find that many people are willing to pay a significant amount more for cage-free eggs than regular.'"
