The Quest for Google Fiber

Posted: Mar 12, 2010 | 3 min 48 sec

ASU is supporting the City of Tempe in its quest for Google Fiber. With a March 26 application deadline, ASU helped the city get its message across to Google with a humorous mock investigative journalistic look at the hunt for more bandwidth. ASU alumnus Xchel Hernandez played the central character in the video.

Tempe is one of more than 600 cities jockeying for an ultra-high speed broadband network that Google plans to build in select cities across the United States. The project – a collaboration between

Alt^I and ASU Public Affairs

– highlights the Tempe campus and the reasons why ASU is a prime site for Google Fiber.
