Arizona State University is sponsoring a series of virtual events with The Economist magazine titled "Re-inventing Higher Education."

ASU President Michael M. Crow participated in one of the roundtable discussions in June. He laid out his vision for the New American University, and the collaboration between ASU and the University Innovation Alliance, a partnership he helped found with universities around the country to work together on increasing the graduation rate of low-income students.

“I don’t think anything like this has ever occurred before," Crow said during the conversation. "There are 400,000 students in these 11 schools and they represent a huge percentage of the research university students. So it’s also another demonstration, model of innovation to facilitate change.”

The conversation is available this month in The Economist.
