ASU Alumni Association President Christine K. Wilkinson

June 19, 2015

Arizona State University Alumni Association President Christine K. Wilkinson has been honored with inclusion in the 2015 edition of Republic Media Who’s Who in Business.

For more than 20 years, the Who’s Who in Business publication has celebrated women in business and their leadership roles. The annual publication is the leading source of 50 top business categories and business rankings in the state, and it acknowledges the nearly 500 top companies and their highest-ranking executives. Republic Media is a media organization that encompasses the Arizona Republic newspaper, the AZCentral.com website and the KPNX-12 television station.

“We all hope to make a difference,” Wilkinson told AZCentral.com. “In my case, it happens to be through education. Along the way, you also hopefully develop and guide staff and colleagues in reaching institutional as well as personal goals.”

As president of the ASU Alumni Association, Wilkinson oversees an organization whose mission is to unite and serve the university’s 380,000 alumni. She is also the first person to hold the position of senior vice president and secretary of the university at ASU. Prior to her current appointment with the Office of the President, she served as a vice president for student affairs for 13 years.

In addition to her ASU responsibilities, Wilkinson is active in the community at large through volunteer leadership positions in groups such as Valley of the Sun United Way, Arizona Educational Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona, the Wells Fargo Community Advisory Board, and the SARRC (Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center) governance committee. A member of the Arizona Business Leadership Association, Dr. Wilkinson is the recipient of several notable awards, including the university’s Award of Merit and the Valley Leadership 2009 Woman of the Year Award.

Her devotion to ASU is a family legacy as Wilkinson’s father is the late William “Kaji” Kajikawa, a former football, basketball and baseball coach for the university.
