Vote for favorite video to help students win scholarship funds

What is college? That’s what Arizona State University asked Arizona high school students and current ASU students to answer in the “What is College?” video contest.

More than 60 high school and ASU students submitted videos, some sharing their personal stories and all of them showcasing their creative talent.

High school students from the following schools were selected as the top five high school finalists: San Luis High School, Hamilton High School, University High School-Tolleson, Sunrise Mountain High School and Pinnacle High School. Five ASU students were also selected as finalists, for a total of 10 finalists.

For the contest, students were asked create a three minute video describing what college means to them. The top three videos in the high school and ASU categories will be awarded cash and ASU scholarship prizes.

• First place receives a $5,000 ASU scholarship and $5,000 in cash
• Second place receives a $3,000 ASU scholarship and $2,000 in cash
• Third place receives a $1,000 ASU scholarship and $1,000 in cash

"The 'What is College' video contest is part of an exciting project to expand ASU’s eAdvisor tool for high school students. The expanded eAdvisor will allow them to learn about career interests, see how careers connect to ASU majors and design their own high school experience to ensure they are prepared for their ASU experience," said Natalie Nailor, executive director of Access ASU.
