'My Plate Selfie' contest invites ASU alums to show their spirit

Arizona State University alums and fans whose license plates proudly proclaim their Sun Devil pride can share their enthusiasm by participating in the ASU Alumni Association’s “My Plate Selfie” contest, running through midnight, Nov. 15.

The contest will showcase fans’ ASU spirit through creative “selfie” photos that include their license plate.

The “My Plate Selfie” contest will have two categories: Arizona and national. Arizona residents who own an all-gold ASU collegiate license plate are eligible for the in-state category; those who live in states other than Arizona are eligible if they own a personalized, ASU-themed license plate in their home state. Entrants in both categories have until Nov. 16 to send their selfies to sparkyplates@asu.edu.

Winners in the Arizona category will receive a $100 gift card to the Sun Devil Campus Stores, as well as a Sparky Car Care Package, containing various ASU-themed vehicle items. In the national category, the winner will receive a $100 gas card and a Sparky Car Care Package. Second and third place contestants in each category will win a $25 gas card and a Sparky Car Care Package.

Fans of the ASU Alumni Association’s Facebook page will be able to vote for their favorite selfie from Nov. 19 to Nov. 26. On Dec. 1, the association will announce the contest winners at http://alumni.asu.edu and on the Facebook fan page.

Sales of the ASU collegiate plate in Arizona provide financial support to current students through the Alumni Association’s Medallion Scholarship.
