Take a stand for health, says ASU professor

July 10, 2014

Matt Buman, an exercise and wellness professor in the School of Nutrition and Health Promotion, part of the College of Health Solutions at Arizona State University, encourages readers to stand more often in the name of health. Based on his research, Buman says sitting too often can lead to a number of health issues including cancer, diabetes and blood clots.

"It's not good to be what I call an 'active couch potato' that's a person who exercises regularly but then spends the rest of the day sitting at work and at home in the front of the TV at night."

Buman's research and tips on how to become more active at work were published in the Living Well section of the Arizona Republic.
