Former student-athlete finds success in sports broadcasting

November 18, 2013

In a recent edition of its "Where Are They Now" series, Sun Devil Athletics caught up with alum Deirdre Cienki, former women’s tennis player and English literature major.

Now working for ESPN Radio, while at ASU, Cienki interned for Fox Sports Arizona, the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Cincinnati Reds. Cienki also spent time with the MLB Advanced Media, booking guests for the All-Star Game Fan Fest and helping out with production on the MLB.com studio set at the All-Star game.

In her Q&A with Sun Devil Athletics, Cienki reveals what made her pursue sports broadcasting, what it’s like to be a female in the industry and what makes her job so much fun.
