Carillon reading to honor ASU's fallen

October 29, 2013

When Associated Students of ASU purchased the Symphonic Carillon in 1966, it was dedicated as a memorial to those in the ASU community who gave their lives for their country.

Those names are recorded in a memory book at the Carillon, and they will be read at 12:15 p.m., Nov. 8, on the steps of Old Main.

The list includes names from World War I, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan.

Reading the names will be members of the Veterans Chapter of the ASU Alumni Association.

A ROTC Color Guard will open the ceremony at 12:05 p.m. Arizona State Credit Union Student Carillonneur Jacob Hofeling will play patriotic music on the Symphonic Carillon and Michael Hofeling will conclude the ceremony by playing “Amazing Grace” on the Irish pipes.

The ASU community and family and friends of the fallen are invited to attend the ceremony. For more information, send an e-mail to carillon@asu.edu.
