ASU student startup FlashFood continues to make national headlines, most recently in An Entrepreneurial Life, a national news outlet dedicated to serving the collegiate entrepreneurial community.

In the article, titled "FlashFood: ASU Startup Feeds the Hungry while Building a Business,” the startup is praised for its efforts to streamline the process of getting perishable food to those in need. According to founder Jake Irvin, the inspiration for the business was simple: “As with many large metropolitan areas, Phoenix has a big problem with hunger, and we wanted to work on that issue.”

The FlashFood team has garnered recognition and funding from several reputable organizations, including the Arizona Edson Student Accelerator, the NCIIA E-Team Program, the ASU Innovation Challenge and Microsoft’s Imagine Cup competition, in which they placed first in the U.S. finals.
