New York Times reviewer touts ASU professor's latest book

In a review for the New York Times, Jane Gross expresses her gratitude for and enjoyment of “I Wasn’t Strong Like This When I Started Out. True Stories of Becoming A Nurse” - a collection of essays by nurses, edited by the Consortium for Science, Policy and Outcomes' distinguished writer in residence, Lee Gutkind. The article spent time at the top of the New York Times' most emailed article list.

The daughter of a nurse, Gross states, "With this as my background, I am hardly a disinterested reviewer of a new anthology of essays by 21 nurses. It is beautifully wrought, but more significantly, a reminder that these 'semi-invisible' people - as Gutkind calls them in this new book - are now the 'indispensable and anchoring element of our health care system.'"
