Pitchfork Awards celebrate student accomplishments

Arizona State University students’ accomplishments will be recognized at the second annual Pitchfork Awards on April 4. The awards ceremony will take place at 8 p.m., at the Orpheum Theater, 203 West Adams Street, Phoenix.

Students, faculty and staff were invited to nominate outstanding Sun Devil students and organizations throughout the year. A selection committee comprised of university faculty and staff will recognize winners in categories, such as Changemaker Entrepreneur of the Year, Outstanding Sustainable Project and Outstanding NCAA Student Athlete. Overall, 487 nominations were submitted for 397 nominees. A total of 95 students, student-planned programs and student organizations have been identified as finalists for the 22 award categories. Sponsors for the event include the Arizona State Credit Union, Sun Devil Coalition and the Retreat at Tontozona. These sponsors have contributed to the event by offering planning and financial assistance.

Pitchfork Award tickets are free and available on a first-come first-serve basis for Sun Card holders. Tickets can be reserved online at students.asu.edu/pitchforkawards through April 2. Attendees are asked to dress to impress and take photos with Sparky on the maroon carpet. Doors open at 7 p.m.
