Call for applicants for 'To Think, To Write, To Publish'

April 24, 2012

Sponsored by the Consortium for Science, Policy and Outcomes at ASU, and supported by a generous grant from the National Science Foundation, “To Think, To Write, To Publish” is a rare opportunity for writers and science policy scholars to learn creative nonfiction storytelling techniques, consult with prestigious writers, publishers and editors of major magazines, and publish work in a collection of creative nonfiction essays.

Applications are now being accepted for the 2012-2013 “To Think, To Write, To Publish” program.

Participants will attend a two-part, multi-day workshop that will gather emerging writers and early career science and innovation policy scholars to immerse themselves in the art and business of nonfiction storytelling. Travel expenses to attend the workshops will be paid, along with an honorarium.

The program is tailored to bring together fiction and nonfiction writers, journalists, poets, documentary filmmakers, bloggers and museum coordinators with for researchers from academic, public or private organizations.

The first part of the workshop is scheduled to take place Oct. 3-7 in Washington, D.C., with the second tentatively scheduled for May 16-20, 2013 in Tempe, Ariz. To apply, visit www.thinkwritepublish.org.

Applications are due June 15.
