Philanthropists of the Year: Herbergers invest in human potential

Posted: Mar 01, 2012 | 2 min 32 sec

Jeanne and Gary Herberger were named Philanthropists of the Year at the Feb. 29 annual Founders' Day award dinner.

From the many programs, schools and initiatives offered through the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts, to the Herberger Young Scholars Academy for gifted children, the Herbergers have made astounding contributions toward creating educational and creative opportunities for students and the community at Arizona State University.

In describing the Herbergers' motivation behind their generous gifts, ASU President Michael Crow says: "It's about how can you take human potential and move it to the highest level of creativity."
