Krauss' book makes New York Times Best Seller list

February 02, 2012

“A Universe from Nothing: Why There is Something Rather Than Nothing,” a provocative book by Lawrence Krauss, is holding fast on the New York Times Best Sellers list. It is at No. 12 in its second week on the nonfiction list, and remains at No. 15 on the combined print and e-book nonfiction list.

In “A Universe from Nothing,” Krauss, an ASU Foundation Professor and director of the Origins Project, explains how recent revolutions in our understanding of physics and cosmology are allowing modern science to address the question of why there is something rather than nothing and, more importantly, why this is fundamentally a scientific question rather than a philosophical or theological one.

“Everything we know about the Universe allows for it to come from nothing, and moreover all of the data are consistent with this possibility,” Krauss said. “That this is even plausible is truly remarkable, and worth sharing.”
