'The Maid's Daughter' gets shout out in Diverse

October 18, 2011

"The Maid's Daughter: Living Inside and Outside the American Dream" by ASU professor Mary Romero was featured in the "Spectrum" section of the Oct. 13 issue of Diverse magazine as a recommended read.

Why read it? Diverse wrote, "This isn't 'The Help.' Romero's nonfiction book relies on 20 years of research and is an anthropological study into identity politics and the myth of meritocracy."

Romero is professor and faculty head of Justice and Social Inquiry in the School of Social Transformation, an academic unit of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
