September 26, 2011

Arizona State junior running back Cameron Marshall has been nominated for the FRS Running Back Performance of the Year for his role in the Sun Devils' 43-22 win over No. 23 USC, Intersport announced, Sept. 26.

Marshall gained 142 rushing yards and matched a career high with three touchdowns in ASU's 21-point victory. He put the Sun Devils on the board first with a 70-yard touchdown run early in the first quarter and added two more scores late in the second half. Marshall is the first running back this season to gain more than 100 yards on the ground against the Trojans.

The FRS Running Back Performance of the Year is part of a four-month competition that lets fans determine which individual performances reign supreme during the 2011 college football season. Voting starts today on the All-Star Football Challenge Facebook page and ends Sunday, Oct. 2, at 7:59 a.m. (PT).

Marshall is competing for the week three award with Temple's Bernard Pierce.

From now until the end of Bowl season, the two top "Running Back's of the Week" will be featured on the All-Star Football Challenge Facebook page, along with two top individual performers among quarterbacks, receivers and defensive players. The top weekly vote-getter will proceed to the finals, which run Jan. 19-25. The winners will be revealed during the two hour All-Star Football Challenge special airing at 4 p.m. (PT) Feb. 3 on ESPN2.
