Linda Johnson of the Arizona Department of Economic Security captures ideas in a working group session at the conference, “Connecting the Dots: Domestic Violence – Child Welfare; One State, One System,” held Sept. 9, at ASU’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law. More than 400 people attended the conference, and the group was given a call to action by U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor (ret.), who told the group that, “Arizona hasn’t done as much as we could do,” and urged them to “adjourn with resolve that we are all going to help.”
The conference was presented by the Arizona Supreme Court Dependent Children’s Services Division Court Improvement Program, the Arizona Coalition Against Domestic Violence, the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, Casey Family Programs, The Arizona Department of Economic Security, Jewish Family & Children’s Service, Maricopa County Juvenile Court and the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges.
