Studying the effects of urbanization on songbirds

Posted: Jun 06, 2011 | 3 min 48 sec

Birdsongs can communicate many things, even aggression. ASU's Pierre Deviche and doctoral candidate Scott Davies are studying the behavioral changes songbirds display in urban settings. Their work aims to reveal the causes for aggression in birds, as well as the long-term outcomes of changes in the environment that influence the behaviors of many animals.

This video was shot at the Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch – an ideal setting for animals, Deviche says.
