Box Score

Another dominating performance by Dallas Escobedo coupled with nine hits and seven runs from the offense made an indubitable setting for a win Sunday afternoon as the No. 1 ASU Softball team took a 7-1 win over Oregon State. The win is ASU’s eighth consecutive Pac-10 win and second sweep which gave Escobedo her current 23-3 record on the year and ASU a 45-5 record overall and 12-3 conference record. The Beavers drop to 18-22 and 1-14 in the Pac-10.

The Sun Devils started off the first the same way they had all weekend as they pushed one across with a Krista Donnenwirth RBI ground out before turning up the heat in the second bringing in three with RBI hits from Talor Haro, Katelyn Boyd and Lesley Rogers to make it 4-0 after two complete.

Dallas Escobedo came out to fire on all cylinders throwing six hitless innings to the Beavers while her offense chipped away at the score. Katelyn Boyd in a heads-up play in the fourth snaked another run off a wild pitch before OSU snapped Escobedo’s no-hitter in the sixth with a solo shot by relief pitcher, Paige Hall wh crushed one to left center.

After settling down Escobedo put it together to close it out while ASU added one last notch to the board as an error placed Annie Lockwood on first before Sam Parlich made them pay with a home run to left center for her tenth of the season to make it 7-1.

The Sun Devils hit the road again this weekend as they continue Pac-10 play in the Pacific Northwest where they’ll face-off against the Washington Huskies in Seattle next Friday-Sunday.
