Youngsters inspired by engineering, science projects

April 11, 2011

Young students at Centennial Middle School in Phoenix got hands-on lessons in engineering and science through an outreach program of ASU’s Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering.

On the final day of the after-school program, almost a hundred 6th, 7th and 8th graders – who were mentored by ASU science and engineering doctoral students – displayed class projects that delved into microbiology, energy, water filtration, prosthetic technologies and more.

Centennial’s principal noted how the experience prompted some students to start making career plans.
