Meteorite expert talks rocks

Posted: Mar 23, 2011 | 1 min 24 sec

ASU's Meenakshi "Mini" Wadhwa, director of the Center for Meteorite Studies at ASU's School of Earth and Space Exploration, talks about why she has spent her career investigating meteorites.

Wadhwa is one of the leading experts in meteorites. "As a kid, I used to collect all different rock types," Wadhwa says. "Meteorites are … the poor man's space probes. They're really sort of an inexpensive way to look at other places in our solar system that otherwise you would not be able to do without spacecraft missions there."
