U.S. News & World Report: Business school among best grad schools again

U.S. News & World Report just released its prestigious annual rankings for the best business schools in the country, and once again, the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University is being honored. On the newly unveiled list of America’s top graduate schools for business, the school ranks No. 27 for its full-time MBA program. This is the fourth year in a row the school ranks top 30 in the nation.

“We’re pleased to demonstrate this type of consistent excellence,” says Robert Mittelstaedt, dean of the W. P. Carey School of Business. “This is especially meaningful since these rankings are determined in large part by the high quality of our students and the judgment of our peer business schools and corporate recruiters who offer our students jobs.”

According to the new list, the W. P. Carey School is one of the top five business grad schools in the West and one of the top 10 public business schools in the country. It’s also the highest-ranking business school in Arizona, the only one in the top 50.

“We know we provide our students with a world-class education; we offer relatively small class sizes taught by faculty who are among the best in the world,” says Beth Walker, associate dean of the W. P. Carey MBA. “However, we’re really proud to be recognized repeatedly like this.”

The W. P. Carey School’s full-time MBA program is also considered a great value. It’s one of the two most affordable schools in the top 30 on the new U.S. News & World Report list. Earlier this year, Bloomberg Businessweek also rated the school’s full-time MBA program among the top 10 in the country for “return on investment.”

In addition to the new full-time MBA ranking from U.S. News & World Report, the W. P. Carey School of Business also ranks well on the publication’s business “specialties” lists. The evening MBA program moved up three spots to become the No. 17 “part-time MBA” in the country. The 21-month program offered at several locations across the Phoenix area is again the highest-ranked evening program in Arizona. The school’s renowned supply chain management program ranks No. 6 in the nation.

Other recent rankings also applaud the W. P. Carey School of Business’ two executive MBA programs. The Phoenix-based program was ranked No. 13 in the world by The Wall Street Journal. The China-based program was ranked No. 28 in the world by the Financial Times, Britain’s equivalent of The Wall Street Journal.
