Posted: Feb 28, 2011 | 2 min 12 sec

In a time of budgetary crisis, we are reminded of the crucial role research universities play in the development of communities on local, national and global levels. Research is the way we move forward, says Kimberly Marshall, professor and director of the School of Music. With collaboration and diversity as its hallmarks, the 21st century research university has become the ideal setting for the exploration of ideas and the unleashing of human potential.

This video was produced and edited by Laura Palmisano, journalism student, and Alexander D. Chapin, Interdisciplinary Arts and Performance student. Both work as videographers/editors with the OKED communications team.
