Kennegard represents Sun Devils at All-America Golf Classic

Senior Jesper Kennegard sits in a tie for 13th in the Western Refining College All-America Golf Classic after two rounds at the El Paso Country Club in El Paso, Texas.

Kennegard carded an even par 71 in the opening round of the event, then followed with a 1-under par 70 in the second round to end the day with a 1-under par 141 (71-70).

Both the first and second rounds of the tournament were played on Nov. 22, and the third and final round will tee of at 8 a.m. Nov. 23. The trophy presentation will follow the conclusion of the round.

Kennegard is one of 32 of the nation's premier collegiate golfers invited to the 36th annual event and past champions include Ricky Barnes (2000), Notah Begay (1994), David Duval (1991), Davis Love III (1984) and Tiger Woods (1995). Billy Mayfair is the only Sun Devil to win the Golf Classic after taking the title in 1986.

Last season, the Western Refining College All-America Golf Classic ranked as the No. 1 tournament in the country for the sixth consecutive season, according to the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index.
