W. P. Carey School of Business ranks in Top 30 again

The W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University continues to receive national and international accolades. The school ranks in the Top 30 on two new, highly regarded lists. U.S. News & World Report puts the W. P. Carey School of Business at No. 28 among the “Best Business Programs” in the country. The internationally renowned Center for World-Class Universities at Shanghai Jiao Tong University chose the school as No. 22 in the world.

“We are honored to be noted consistently for excellence at the W. P. Carey School of Business,” said Robert Mittelstaedt, dean of the school. “It’s rewarding to see our exceptional faculty, hard-working students and world-class research efforts really being acknowledged on an international scale.”

This marks the ninth time the W. P. Carey School of Business has been ranked Top 30 by U.S. News & World Report for its undergraduate business program over the past decade. The school is among the top five schools in the West on the latest list. The undergraduate supply chain management program is also applauded as No. 4 in the nation in its specialty category.

The list from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, better known as the “Academic Rankings of World Universities,” is considered to be one of the two most prominent global university rankings. Criteria include highly cited researchers, alumni and staff winning Nobel Prizes and Field Medals, and other objective indicators and third-party data. The W. P. Carey School of Business ranked Top 25 on the prestigious list for “economics/business” last year and moved up two places to No. 22 this year.

Among the other top rankings received by the W. P. Carey School of Business this year:

• The school is Top 25 in the world for business school research productivity, according to the University of Texas at Dallas.

• U.S. News & World Report ranks the full-time MBA program Top 30 in the country for the third year in a row.

• U.S. News & World Report ranks the evening MBA program Top 20 in the nation.

• The Financial Times, Britain’s equivalent of The Wall Street Journal, ranks the school’s executive MBA program in China among the Top 50 EMBA programs in the world.

• Bloomberg BusinessWeek ranks the school among the Top 20 business schools in the country for “Return on Investment,” comparing annual tuition with the median base salary students receive at graduation.
