Victorian aesthetic sets stage for fine arts thesis

Posted: Aug 05, 2010 | 2 min 5 sec

Julie Mikelson, a fine arts student, had the choice to either do a traditional honors thesis or a gallery exhibition. She chose the latter, and the result was "Silhouetted" – a Bachelor of Fine Arts Honors Thesis Exhibition.

A metals major, Mikelson focused her thesis on the decorative qualities of the Victorian era, while exploring the roles women played in society during that time and into the 20th century.
