Ubiquity conducts 'state of the LGBTQA union'

State of the LGBTQA Union is conducting a discussion from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., April 7, in the Cochise Room (228) of the Memorial Union on the Tempe campus, on domestic partner benefits and key issues affecting the LGBTQA community. The special guest speaker will be Ariz. Representative Kyrsten Sinema. Light refreshments will be served.

Ubiquity: who we are and what we do

Ubiquity is a group of ASU staff and faculty concerned with lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender issues. Our concern extends from university matters to local, regional and national ones. 

Membership in Ubiquity is established by subscribing to a list service where announcements are posted by electronic mail regarding issues under discussion and social events.

Most members of Ubiquity are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender, and we welcome anyone supportive of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender concerns. Membership in Ubiquity is informal, confidential and incurs no dues. Ubiquity does not receive direct funding from the university. 

Involvement in Ubiquity is on a volunteer basis. Generally, members take part in discussions through the list service and attend social events that are announced on the list. Those wishing to take a more active role may choose to attend meetings of the Ubiquity Board. Membership on the board also is voluntary, with elections held annually for two-year terms.

Some volunteers serve as social event coordinators or act as representatives for us in different committees, projects and organizations on the various ASU campuses.

 Ubiquity has created a list that we use for distributing information for the group. No one outside the list can view who is a member.
