ASU coordinates Spring 2010 food drive

March 01, 2010

Current economic times have forced many in our Valley community to seek out resources for basic needs such as food. As a result of the high demand, many of our Valley's food banks are running bare.

In the spirit of community, the ASU Commission on the Status of Women is coordinating a month-long food drive on all four campuses to benefit local charities including the Salvation Army, St. Mary's, and St. Vincent de Paul.

The drive, which runs fthrough March 24, seeks to collect canned food, dry goods, and other non-perishable food items. Additionally, many charities are in need of monetary donations – and every little bit helps. A donation of just $5 can feed a family of five for three days.

For additional information and drop off locations visit the CSW website. All donations will be counted as part of the "Territorial Food Cup Competition" between Arizona State University and the University of Arizona.
