Women's hoops defeat Arizona at 'Pink Zone' game

Janae Fulcher and Danielle Orsillo both scored 10 points and Alex Earl had nine while tying a career high with three 3-pointers as Arizona State blitzed Arizona in the second half for a 57-49 victory on Saturday.

Earl hit all of her 3-pointers against an Arizona zone defense in the final 8:47, when Arizona State (16-9, 8-6 Pac-10) outscored Arizona 27-11 after falling behind by as many as eight points in the second half to secure its 10th straight victory in the series.

Soana Lucet led Arizona (13-12, 6-8) with 12 points, and Davellyn White had 10. White, fifth in the Pac-10 with a 16.8-point scoring average, was just 2 of 18 from the field.

Earl hit her first two 3-pointers on consecutive possessions to cap a 10-0 run that gave Arizona State a 40-38 lead with 8:13 remaining.

The Sun Devils had a season low eight turnovers on Saturday, including only one in the second half.

Becca Tobin had eight points and six rebounds for Arizona State, which was playing without injured point guard Tenaya Watson for the third consecutive game.
