Carpenter finds comfort with offense

Posted: Sep 02, 2008 | 8 min 7 sec

The game seems to be "slowing down" for ASU Senior quarterback Rudy Carpenter. After dominating against Northern Arizona early in the team's 30-13 win Saturday in front of a crowd of 62,707 at Sun Devil Stadium, Carpenter says he is definitely feeling comfortable with the offense and his team.

Carpenter went 22-for-28 for 388 yards and a touchdown, and he tied the school record by completing 13 straight passes in the first half. Carpenter also led the team in rushing with 40 yards on five carries, as the Sun Devils took a 27-0 lead into halftime and won their season opener for the sixth consecutive season.

At his weekly press conference, Carpenter looked back at the NAU game and ahead to the Sun Devil's Pac-10 Conference opener against Stanford on Sept. 8.
