Facing a five run deficit entering the ninth, the second ranked Sun Devils rallied to homer three times in the inning, scoring eight runs and shocking the Washington State Cougars 16-13 in Pullman. The win moves ASU to 30-4, 6-3 in Pac-10 play. It is the 46th straight season with at least 30 victories for Arizona State.

Playing three freshmen and two sophomores, the Arizona State men's golf team won the 36th annual 15-school ASU Thunderbird Invitational held at ASU's Karsten Golf Course (par-71/7,057 yards) with a 9-under 843 (279-279-285), nine shots ahead of the ASU Maroon Team, which finished at even-par 852 (279-286-287).

The No. 22 Arizona State men's tennis team continued to defend their home court as they defeated No. 23 Washington 5-2 at Whiteman Tennis Center. The Sun Devils moved to 14-2 overall and 2-2 in the Pac-10 while the Huskies fell to 13-7, 1-3. ASU is 7-0 at home this season.

Even with 22 hits on the day, the No. 1 Sun Devil Softball team was only able to squeak one extra inning win on the day as they took game one against Oregon State 3-2 in twelve innings and were winning game two 6-4 after six full innings in before being forced to halt due to Pac-10 travel rules.

Sports:  Stadium Shootout field set for December contests

The Arizona Sports & Tourism Authority (AZSTA) and Global Spectrum in collaboration with Northwest Sports & Entertainment Inc. announced the first ever basketball games to be held at the University of Phoenix Stadium. The event will be a double header and will feature four teams who won at least 20 contests and played in a postseason tournament during the 2007-2008 season. The first matchup features the University of Louisville Cardinals facing the Golden Gophers from the University of Minnesota. Game two pits the Brigham Young University Cougars against the Arizona State University Sun Devils.
