ASU among best colleges for social media

June 30, 2011

In a rankings report published by BestCollegesOnline, Arizona State University is listed among the top 20 colleges in the United States using social media effectively.

"Though every university seems to have a Facebook page, Twitter account and You Tube channel, there are an exceptional few colleges who have truly done great things in social media, becoming influencers and brainstormers online," write the report authors in a recent USA Today article.

ASU is recognized for its social media page, allowing users to see all university postings on several media platforms that include Twitter, Facebook and Foursquare. Additionally, the report highlights the school's course offerings in social media and web innovation, by way of ASU's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

Other colleges that made the cut were Princeton University, Stanford, Carnegie Mellon, Johns Hopkins University, Columbia University and University of Texas.
