Bodansky to address U.N. Climate Change Conference meeting

Daniel Bodansky, the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law Lincoln Professor of Law, Ethics, and Sustainability, will participate in a program of the Pew Center on Global Climate Change during the upcoming United Nations Climate Change Conference in Cancun, Mexico.

Bodansky will discuss a new Pew report that explores the evolution of multilateral regimes and implications for the future of the climate change regime during the program, “Cancun Side Event: Towards a Binding Climate Agreement.” He will be joined at the Dec. 6 meeting by Elliot Diringer, Vice President of International Strategies at the Pew Center, Harald Winkler, Associate Professor in the Energy Research Centre at the University of Cape Town, Sebasian Oberthur, Academic Director at the Institute for European Studies, and Joan MacNaughton, Senior Vice President of Power and Environmental Policies at Alstom Power Systems.

Bodansky is a preeminent authority on global climate change whose teaching and research focus on international environmental law and public international law. He teaches courses in international law and sustainability and is a key player in the College of Law’s new Program on Law and Sustainability. Bodansky also is an Affiliate Faculty Member in both the College of Law’s Center for Law and Global Affairs and its Center for Law, Science & Innovation, and in the Global Institute of Sustainability’s School of Sustainability at ASU.
