MFA faculty to read from work

What’s almost better than reading a good book on a crisp December evening?

Having the authors read their work to you.

Nearly a dozen faculty in the Arizona State University master of fine arts in creative writing program will read from their work at 7:45 p.m., Dec. 2, in the Memorial Union’s Pima Auditorium (230) on the Tempe campus.

Each author will read for a maximum of five minutes.

Particitipating in the free event will be:

• Sally Ball, Tara Ison, Alberto Ríos and Peter Turchi, who will read from new and unpublished work.
• Jay Boyer, who will read from his most recently published play, “Empty Stages.”
• Norman Dubie, from his just-published book, “Volcano.”
• Beckian Fritz Goldberg, from her recently published collection, “Reliquary Fever: New and Selected Poems.”
• Cynthia Hogue, from her recently published collection, “Or Consequence.”
• T.R. Hummer, from “Ephemeron,” forthcoming from LSU Press.
• Melissa Pritchard, from her new short story collection, “The Odditorium,”forthcoming from Bellevue Literary Press.
• Jeannine Savard, from her second book, “Trumpeter,” and from new unpublished work.
