Tempe campus in high gear for 2010 Homecoming activities
The Tempe campus of ASU will be awash in maroon and gold Oct. 22-30, as the weeklong 2010 Devilish Homecoming activities build to a climax with a parade, block party and football game. The parade will start at 12:30, with the block-party following at 1:30. Kick-off will start at 4 p.m.
This year’s parade along University Drive, which starts three and a half hours before the big game, will feature about 100 floats. An hour later a gigantic Block Party with demonstrations, exhibits, food and kids’ activities, will take over the university Alumni Lawn and the surrounding area along University Drive.

Homecoming Coronation

Campus MovieFest and Red Carpet Finale

MadCap Theater off Mill Avenue at 7th Street
ASU premiers the top films from talented ASU students. Students are provided with a Mac book, video camera and a week's worth of time to make their short film. The films are judged and will be shown at the premiere.

Locks of Love and Goin’ Bald for Bucks

Memorial Union North Stage
Donate money for a great cause while watching students chop or shave their locks. Proceeds will go to the Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Locks of Love is a non-profit organization that helps provide wigs to cancer patients who have lost their hair through chemotherapy.
Lecture and Homecoming Writing Awards

James Gee, the Mary Lou Fulton Presidential Professor of Literacy Studies in the Department of English, will give a talk on “Language in a Digital Age.” Afterwards winners of the Randel and Susan McCraw Helms Homecoming Writing Contest will be presented with their awards and will give readings from their work.
Pitchfork Pep Rally

Join Sparky, the Spirit Squad and students as they rally together to beat the Cougars. Sign the game day banner that Sparky will run through on Saturday before kickoff.

Retrace the steps of former classes in a climb to the top of A-mountain with students, alumni, faculty and staff in ASU's longest-standing tradition. Features guest speakers, special guests, the ASU Cheer Club team and a magnificent firework display.

Join Sparky, the Sun Devil Marching Band and the Sun Devil Spirit Squad, as well as more than 30,000 spectators at this enormous event, which will feature about 100 floats.
Homecoming Block Party

The exciting area will have educational activities and treats for children, plus demonstrations and exhibits for everyone. Features 75 tents sponsored by ASU schools, colleges and organizations. The expanded Kidz Zone will have bounce houses, video game trucks, costume and coloring booths and other carnival games. Parents are encouraged to bring their children to dress in costume and trick or treat.
Visit the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences tents to see live reptile exhibits, a glass-blowing demonstration, science demonstrations, meteorite displays, live music and performances, interactive games and hands-on arts and crafts, among other attractions.
Sparky’s Pre-Game Tailgate

Root on the Sun Devils as they prepare to take the field. Join students to enjoy music, Sun Devil Spirit and concessions for purchase. The football team will be dropped off in front of the Tailgate party and will take the Devil Walk into Sun Devil Stadium.
