Sun Devil Dining opens new market in Memorial Union

Sun Devil Dining/ARAMARK is pleased to announce the grand opening for the new convenience store concept, Provisions on Demand (P.O.D.) Market, to meet the demand of students looking for fresh, healthy and quick dining options. The new P.O.D Market is located in the Memorial Union on the Tempe campus. 

P.O.D. Market combines the corner store with the style of a modern market, featuring freshly-prepared breakfast sandwiches, burritos, wraps, sushi and salads, as well as fresh produce, bakery and coffee selections, and traditional essentials found in a convenience store. 

“Our research told us that students were looking for fresh prepared foods and everyday essentials in one convenient location on campus,” said Diahann McCarty of Sun Devil Dining. “Our goal was to develop a highly-customized solution that delivers quality, convenience, variety and value and met the specific needs of the campus community.” 

P.O.D. Market was designed to engage students about the foods they eat, offering information about their place of origin and nutritional value. Product cues clearly identify food items as vegan, organic, kosher, locally-grown, gluten-free, low-carb or fair trade.

The grand opening event for the P.O.D. Market located in the Memorial Union on the Tempe campus will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Sept. 27. During the hours of 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., customers will receive free samples from P.O.D. food and beverage vendors: China Mist, Dannon Yogurt, Fuze, Honest Tea and Uno’s Pizza. In addition, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., there will be additional sampling and promotional offers inside the P.O.D. Market.
