ASU holds tribute to Frank Sackton, Feb. 26

Arizona State University College of Public Programs will host a memorial service and tribute celebrating the life of Frank Sackton, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, at the A.E. England Building, 424 N. Central Ave.

Sackton passed away Feb. 14 at age 97.

He played a vital role in the success of thousands of leaders ranging from Gen. Douglas MacArthur to many of today’s best public servants in the nation.

Sackton, a former Army lieutenant general who lived in Scottsdale, started his career at ASU in 1976. He was, most recently, a professor emeritus in ASU’s School of Public Affairs where he taught through the fall 2009 semester.

He also served as ASU Vice President for Business Affairs and ASU Director of Strategic Planning.

In the 1970s, he served as special assistant to Arizona Gov. Jack Williams.

The nearest public parking lot for the tribute is at Fillmore and First Street. The closest Light Rail stop is at Central Avenue and Van Buren.
