Assistant professor Jameson Wetmore of Arizona State University’s School of Human Evolution and Social Change is at the forefront of researching the connection between societies and technologies and how this relationship impacts politics, ethics and values. Wetmore, who works closely with the university’s Consortium for Science, Policy and Outcomes and the Center for Nanotechnology in Society―ASU, recently co-edited an anthology of writings focused on the interweavings of society, technology and values.

“Technology and Society: Building Our Sociotechnical Future” was published by MIT Press and features discourses on environmental and social justice; globalization; and the technologies of human enhancement from such notables as Judy Wajcman and Freeman Dyson.

Wetmore co-edited the collection with professor Deborah Johnson of the University of Virginia. The book’s publication is highlighted on the University of Virginia’s UVA Today news site.
