Economic growth canceling out 'green' efforts

Widespread efforts by businesses to go ‘greener’ are actually may not be putting that much of a dent into environmental problems. Growth that outweighs energy savings is a problem that affects the overall economy as well as individual business with green initiatives, says Jonathan Fink, director of ASU’s Institute of Sustainability. “The challenges of having sustainable growth are really difficult,” says Fink. “We need technological improvements and answers, so it really is economically worthwhile for companies to do the right thing.”
